Attention Pet Parents! There’s a Free Pet Vaccine Clinic in Grand Rapids This Saturday
Need to get your dog or cat vaccinated? There's a free pet vaccine clinic happening in Grand Rapids this Saturday, March 12. Other pet services will also be offered at a discounted price.
West Michigan animal welfare agencies have teamed up to provide the free vaccination clinic with the support of Petco Love and Bissell Pet Foundation.
When and Where is the Free Pet Vaccination Clinic in Grand Rapids?
The free vaccination clinic is Saturday, March 12, 12p.m. to 3p.m. at St. Alphonsus Parish at 224 Carrier St. NE.
What Kind of Vaccines and Services are Being Offered?
Free vaccines at the event include rabies and distemper combo for both cats and dogs.
Other services are $5 each and include heartworm tests, microchips, one dose flea/tick prevention, and one dose heartworm prevention. Note that if you're interested in purchasing heartworm prevention, your pet will need to get a heartworm test at the clinic.
Also, if you need to get your pet microchipped but are unable to make the event Saturday, note that the Humane Society of West Michigan offers $15 pet microchipping every Tuesday through Friday 1p.m. through 4p.m.

Do I Need to Register to Participate in the Free Pet Vaccination Clinic?
No registration is necessary. This is a walk-in clinic, and they'll help as many pet clients as possible before the event ends at 3p.m.
Other Important Information for Pet Parents
Organizers say it's important to know what your pet is due for, as this will help the line move quicker. Pet parents can bring records/ vet paperwork if that helps!
For everyone's safety, all cats should be secured in cat carriers and dogs on 6-foot leads and not retractable leashes.
