NOOOOO is the first thing that I said when I found out the news. If you're into jewelry and accessories like I am this one stings for sure.

Charming Charlie announced that they will be closing all of their 261 locations around the U.S., including six stores in Michigan. USA Today reports that the jewelry retailer filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy on Thursday... the second time in less than two years. The first time around they closed about 100 stores.

The retailer used that process to cut debts and slash other costs, but "these efforts simply were not sufficient to stabilize" the business and deliver profits, the company said Thursday in a court filing.

Liquidation sales have already begun at some stores and ALL are expected to be closed by August 31st.

According to its website, the Houston-based company started in 2004. It's basically a one-stop shop for all things jewelry and accessories for any type of occasion.

Charming Charlie has the following locations in Michigan:

  • Green Oak Village Place - Brighton
  • The Mall at Partridge Creek - Clinton Twp.
  • RiverTown Crossings - Grandville
  • Novi Town Center - Novi
  • The Crossroads Mall - Portage
  • Westland Center - Westland
