Why Your Dog’s Poop Could Cost You $500 in This Michigan Township
I love walking my dogs Benny and Paddy.
They get to smell all the smells and I get some much-needed Vitamin D.
But one thing that drives me nuts is when some rude jerk leaves food on the sidewalk or in someone's lawn.

I've had several close calls where I didn't see a chicken wing and Benny tried to swallow it whole, forcing me to stick my hand into his mouth to try to prevent a costly vet visit.

The other thing that really grinds my gears is when someone's dog takes a poop and the owner leaves it behind.
These types of people are the same one's that don't return their shopping cart to the corral.
Turns out I'm not the only person that has a problem with display of laziness.
Michigan Townships $500 Dog Poop Fine
After receiving many complaints about people not cleaning up their dogs' poop the Oshtemo Township board approved a new ordinance to address this stinky situation.
The ordinance requires dog owners or those in control of a dog must immediately remove and properly dispose of any feces deposited by their dog on public or private property (excluding their own property.)
If you're caught violation this ordinance you could get hit with a big fine.
The first offense will cost you $150.
A second offense within the same calendar year will be a $300 fine.
And a third or subsequent violation within the same calendar year will result in a $500 fine.
