Emily Linnert, a familiar face in West Michigan, has signed off for the last time.

After 18 Years at WOOD TV, Emily Linnert Says Farewell

On Thursday, Emily Linnert did her last newscast and bid farewell to her WOOD TV 8 co-workers and viewers with whom she has spent the past 18 years.

A few days before her final goodbye, Emily took to Facebook to share the big news.

Where Is Emily Linnert Going?

While you might not see Emily on your TV every day, she is still sticking around West Michigan.

Emily will transitioning into a new role in communications for the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids.

Working in Grand Rapids radio has given me the chance to meet with Emily, and I know, just like many in West Michigan, we are going to miss her infectious smile and positive attitude.

After spending 25 years covering Michigan news, I can only imagine the courage it takes to try something new and step out of your comfort zone.

Emily, we are all so proud of you and excited to see you in your new role at the Michigan State University College of Human Medicine in Grand Rapids.
