It wasn't about severe weather coming our way or that they would be leaving Grand Rapids for a new opportunity.

This announcement was seven years in the making and had everyone celebrating the exciting news.

WOOD TV Meteorologist Sara Flynn Is Engaged

Sara Flynn, who is a meteorologist at WOOD TV 8 in Grand Rapids, took to social media to share the exciting news that she was now engaged to Kevin, her boyfriend for the past seven years.

Flynn shared that she and her fiancé, Kevin, met seven years ago when they went to college at Iowa State

During that time, they've lived in three different cities and feel so lucky to now call Grand Rapids home

Flynn arrived in Grand Rapids back in June of 2022 when she joined Storm Team 8.

Before the move, Sara worked for two years in Eastern Iowa.

Sara didn't grow up too far from West Michigan.

She is originally from the suburbs of Chicago and then attended Iowa State University, where she earned her Bachelor of Science in meteorology with a minor in journalism and mass communication.

Congratulations to Sara and her fiancé, Kevin, on this exciting new chapter in their life.

West Michigan wishes you two a long and happy marriage, and of course, no rain or snow on your wedding day.
