April 20th?  Really?  They knew what they did.

Grand Rapids City Officials have announced that they will begin to accept applications for the sale of recreational marijuana starting on April 20th, 2020.  That date is also the holiest day of the year for die-hard marijuana enthusiasts as it is also known as "Weed Day".

The applications will need to be approved by city and state government officials before the applicants are issued licenses to sell recreational marijuana.  According to a story by MLive.com, stores that currently sell medicinal marijuana will have to "obtain a special use permit from the city, as well as a state license, if they want to also sell recreational marijuana."

There is no time specified for how long it will take to approve the licenses, but there are some stores that are already "pre-qualified" for a license.
