Lavender [Christine George/Townsquare Media][/caption]It's kitten season and the Humane Society of West Michigan has a ton available for adoption, including Lavender! Lavender is a 2-month old female who has a lot of energy, loves to talk and is very sweet. She's got a very pretty grey and white coat with tiger stripes, especially on her tail.

Lavender is also very playful and is the definition of a kitty. As you can see she is a curious cat who likes to explore (as she did in the studio).

Lavender [Christine George/Townsquare Media][/caption]If you decide to adopt Lavender you'll also be able to take another kitten (or cat) home! Cats & kittens, at the Humane Society of West Michigan, are always BOGO! So you adopt one cat/kitten you'll get another feline friend for FREE!

Also, through the end of June, adult dogs, 5 months and older, are $50! Normally dogs are $175. However, if you can't make it in by Thursday, the humane society will be having a 4th of July special on dogs. All adult dogs will be 40% off. The special will be July 1-3.

This summer, keep the Humane Society in mind by setting up a third-party fundraiser. For example, you can hold a garage sale and donate the funds (or some) to the shelter. Youth groups, such as Boy or Girl Scouts can set up fundraisers to raise money. You can even get the office involved by having a potluck or declaring a Friday as "jeans day" where everyone comes in wearing jeans but also donates money towards the Humane Society. To get involved in a third-party fundraiser call Brooke at the Humane Society of West Michigan at 616.791.8089.
