If you're looking to adopt a puppy, Mary is the one you want! She is a 3-month old American Staffordshire Terrier Mix and is super cute!

Mary was lovable and energetic and she will fit right in to any type of family, including ones with children. Mary costs $300 to adopt but in that price, the Humane Society of West Michigan has her up-to-date on her vaccines, she's spayed and micro-chipped, and she comes with a puppy class to help start training her.

Now through October 30th, the Humane Society of West Michigan has a partnership with SpartanNash called Feed Our Furry Friends Food Drive to benefit the animals at the shelter. All SpartanNash stores (Family Fare, D&W, and Forest Hills Foods) will be collecting pet food donations for the humane society. You can purchase or drop-off any type of pet food or treats in a cart that will be located at the front entrance of the stores.

The Humane Society of West Michigan is 100% donor funded and it costs $17,000 ALONE just to feed the animals at the shelter. This does not include treats or toys or any of the other essentials that animals need. The donations also benefit the Kibble Konnection program, a pet food bank that distributes more than 27,000 pounds of food to low-income families.

Finally, a big shout out to anyone who helped "Empty the Shelter" last Saturday. 50 shelters across Michigan teamed up with the BISSELL Pet Foundation to "empty the shelters." The Humane Society of West Michigan adopted 55 animals and a grand total of 1,944 animals were adopted on Saturday which is a new record in Michigan!
