Michigan Man Thought He Was Seeing Things—Then Realized He’d Won the Lottery

A Michigan man who has chosen to remain anonymous recently had to do a double take because he was so shocked that he had won the lottery.

The 54-year-old man from Luce County in Michigan's Upper Peninsula recently made the trip across the Mighty Mac and drove down to Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing.

He was one of two winners for a Fantasy 5 drawing worth almost $1,000,000.

The lucky man matched the winning Fantasy 5 numbers on Feb. 2  – 01-23-24-31-36 – to win half of the jackpot, which came out to $490,420

The man shared with the Michigan Lottery that he plans to take his winnings and do some home improvements and plans to put the rest away in savings.

“I have been playing Fantasy 5 for a long time, and I usually play every day, When I checked my ticket and saw I’d matched all the numbers, I had to put my glasses on and look it over a second time to make sure I was seeing things clearly. When I counted all five numbers again, I yelled: ‘I think I just won the lottery!’

This lucky man from the U.P. isn't the only one to win big recently playing the Michigan Lottery.
