From Worst to Playoffs The Pistons Pull Off Record-Breaking NBA Comeback
For better or worse, I’m a ride or die Detroit Pistons fan. I’ve endured the lows, the gut-wrenching losses, rebuilds, and the seasons that tested my faith. But this season has finally made it all worth it.
I remember attending the preseason game against the Boston Celtics in October, and in spite the 124–118 loss, there was a fire had my friends who were visiting from Boston visibly annoyed that their team almost lost to the Pistons.
Meanwhile, myself and other Pistons fans leaving LCA that evening knew we were buckled in for a season to remember.
Fast forward to the end of the regular season, and the Pistons have achieved an unprecedented turnaround. From a not so stellar 14–68 record last year, they rose to a remarkable 44–38 finish this season. This means that the Pistons have tripled their win total and they’re the first team in NBA history to do so.

Under the leadership of new head coach J.B. Bickerstaff, the team has really found its identity. Cade Cunningham has shown us he’s an absolute beast, averaging 26 points and nine assists over 70 games.
Our defense ranks in the top 10, and the chemistry on the court is undeniable and so fun to watch.
Now, as we prepare to face the New York Knicks in the playoffs, I can’t help but but be excited about what’s to come in the playoffs. Even if we don’t make it past the Knicks, The Pistons are back, and Motor City feels more alive than it has in years.
