Connie & Fish Got Stocked for Summer at Goodwill
Since Winter is finally gone, Connie didn’t hesitate when I asked her to “SPRING” (get it? like the season?) into action and stop by Goodwill one day after the show.
The first thing we noticed when we walked in is that they had bags that were big enough to not only use for shopping but you can throw things in them for those beach trips. You know, the important things: sun tan lotion, flippy flops and maybe a bag of Doritos.
Since my wife has the habit of losing her sunglasses (or mine) all the time, we each grabbed her a pair of sunglasses (super low priced, BTW) and were on our way.
Neither one of us golfs but I wasn’t surprised at all that they have really affordable clubs available, so why not have an impromptu sword fight and then talk about possibly taking a “swing” at golf sometimes? OH YEAH BABY!!! Cracking myself up over here!
The other thing that I got a kick out of (and probably visually scared Connie) was the fact that with Goodwill's low prices, it wouldn’t be hard for me to get some “goal” clothes for my weight-loss journey. Plus my legs would look very UNIQUE in those little shorts.
Stopping by Goodwill for just a few minutes may have included a sword fight and a scary visual but it also save time because of the variety of things, as well as clothes, that they had there. The inventory is constantly changing throughout the 20 stores Goodwill Industries of Greater Grand Rapids operates in a five-county area, plus the online store at ShopGoodwill.com/GrandRapids.
Every purchase helps people with barriers to employment get training and find jobs, so cllick here to find a location near you!
SIDENOTE: The only pic of me actually in those shorts is on Connie’s phone and not even she would put it up here!
