It's always a nice surprise when you walk into work and an unexpected gift is there for you. Flowers, a note, maybe a present. I don't know what you'd consider this but it was definitely unexpected... and very random.

When I walked into my office this morning I was surprised to see this on my desk.

My first reaction was WHAT THE HELL?! Where did this avocado come from and why is it only HALF of one? I mean come on, if you're going to do something this weird at least make it worth my while and give me a full avocado.

I asked my office mate if he knew where it came from or saw anyone and he was just as confused as I was and we laughed about how weird it was. What I do know is that based on its color it appears pretty fresh and this wasn't on my desk when I left last night which means it happened this morning.

Now I'm left wondering: what do I do with this half avocado? Do I eat it? Will I die? Instead of a poisonous apple could this be a poisonous avocado? Or was half an avocado all someone needed for breakfast and left me the other half knowing I have an affinity for them? I WAS craving avocado toast the other day. Am I missing something here?

I am disappointed that it's only half an avocado, though, I would've liked a full one to take home and make guacamole with. I will have to make this decision soon because as my contemplation continues so does the browning of the mystery avocado.

Let's be honest, I'm going to eat it. It's too delicious and tempting not to! And if it kills me than at least I died remembering to put salt and pepper on my half avocado and it was delicious.

If you ever find yourself in my situation (doubtful) or you're just stuck with half of an avocado here's a few suggestions of what to do with it. And more.
