Meet Kira – Christine’s Pet of the Week!

An energetic, fun, and happy girl is how you would describe Kira.

Kira is a 3-year-old American Staffordshire Terrier Mix and is up for adoption at the Humane Society of West Michigan.

Although Kira is a fun-loving dog who gets along GREAT with everyone she would do best in a home that didn't have a male dog, or at least a home with a younger respectful male dog. She tends to be the dominant one in the relationship. But if you happen to have a male dog and fall in love with Kira you can arrange for a "meeting" at the Humane Society to see how they interact. Otherwise, Kira will adapt will to a number of family situations, including ones with kids or other female pets.

The Humane Society is also having a dog special I Like Big Mutts where dogs 40 pounds and over are only $100 to adopt, which is $75 off! Big thanks to Best Friends Animal Society for providing a grant fund to the shelter to make this special possible. I Like Big Mutts will continue until funding runs out but don't worry they aren't anywhere near that happening so stop into the Humane Society of West Michigan and take advantage of this adoption special!
