“I play the lottery a lot and have won smaller prizes such as $100, $200, and even $5,000 a few times. When I scratched this ticket, I thought I won $50,000 and I couldn’t believe it. I was so excited! Later that day, I looked the ticket over again and my heart started pounding when I realized it was actually a $500,000 winner. It was unreal.”

What a lucky guy, I think the most money I've ever won from a scratch-off ticket was $40, and it felt like I was a millionaire.

Unlike most people who seem to have a plan for what they will do with the money, the winner doesn't.

For now he's going to put it into his savings account and think on it for a while.

This lucky winner isn't the only person to win big playing the Michigan Lottery.

A man visiting Michigan from Maryland recently won $1,000,000 playing a Lucky Numbers instant win ticket.

A Bay County woman who had been playing Lotto 47 for 20 years with the same numbers hit it big and won $1.1 million.

And an Oakland County woman playing Fantasy 5 online accidentally selected a wrong number that resulted in her winning $250,000.
