Did you have a school janitor who went above and beyond?

This story hits home because we had Rita at my elementary school. She did the announcements, cleaned up after us, smiled in the hall, and went way above and beyond her duties.

A similar story is happening in Illinois, where second grade students were given a designated time to exchange yearbook signatures.

Fox 17's Facebook page shows a line of students who took this time to get Mr. Steve's signature. Steve Weidner is more than the school janitor and custodian. According to the principal, Mr. Steve "pays attention to the kids," she goes on to say, "The kids know if anything happens, Mr. Steve is going to take care of it."

Here's to you Mr. Steve, and all the unsung heroes that work for the benefit of our kids!
