There are a lot of bad things that can be said about social media and the fact that we, as a society, are always connected. But, there are some great things about social media, too. And this week that was proven.

On Tuesday (September 24), Mandey Kay took to the Grand Rapids Informed Facebook group with one goal in mind - to reunite a child with the stuffie that she had just found in the parking ramp of Helen DeVos Children's Hospital.

In her post (titled "STUFFIE LOST CHILD", which I LOVE), Mandey explained that she happened upon the "well loved stuffie" as she was leaving the parking lot near the hospital elevator. She actually nearly ran over it, but thankfully noticed it in time.

She was determined to reunite the poor, lost stuff, with its person, saying "said stuffie misses you."

It didn't take long for the power of social media to make an adorable reunion a reality.

Six hours after Mandey's initial post, the stuffie, named "lovie", was reunited with her child, Kinsley.

Kinsley's mom, Elizabeth Wetzel, posted the update in Grand Rapids Informed. Not only did Mandey make sure that lovie made it home, she also drew a picture for Kinsley and came bearing gifts.

Elizabeth said, "lovie was VERY well loved while she was away and we are so happy to have her home."

Elizabeth went on to talk about how this situation had shown her that there are still very kind people out there in this world.

I went inside and cried after giving Mandey the biggest hug because holy moly this world can be quite poopy, but having such beautiful and kind people like Mandey makes me believe there truly is so much good out there.

Thank you, Mandey, for restoring all of our hope in humanity. And Kinsley, we're so happy that lovie is back with you where she belongs.

If you find a lost stuffie, it's best to try to reunite it with its person, but what should you do if you find a lost wild animal? Find out below.
