‘Did I Just Win Big?’ How a West Michigan Lottery Player Multiplied His Prize to Six Figures
A West Michigan man who bought a Powerball ticket earlier this month didn't win the jackpot, but he did end up walking with a massive amount of money by matching several numbers on his ticket.

William Beatty from Muskegon bought his winning Powerball ticket at the Wesco gas station on East Apple Ave.

William's Powerball ticket matched four white balls and the Powerball – 02-06-26-39-68, PB: 06 – in the July 1 drawing to win $50,000.
But thanks to him buying the Power Play, the money was multiplied to $100,000.
He recently went to Michigan Lottery headquarters in Lansing to turn in the winning ticket and collect his cash.
While there, he shared how the big moment happened.
“I was at the gas station and got a Powerball ticket from the Lottery kiosk while I was there. I checked the winning numbers on the Michigan Lottery app the next day, and when I saw I’d matched four white balls and the Powerball, I thought: ‘Wait a minute, did I just win big?’ I scanned my ticket and started jumping for joy when $100,000 came up on the screen!
This lucky West Michigan winner isn't the only person to win big playing the Michigan Lottery.
A man visiting Michigan from Maryland recently won $1,000,000 playing a Lucky Numbers instant win ticket.
A Bay County woman who had been playing Lotto 47 for 20 years with the same numbers hit it big and won $1.1 million.
And an Oakland County woman playing Fantasy 5 online accidentally selected a wrong number that resulted in her winning $250,000.
