Yesterday, 18 people were charged in a credit card scheme involved with bank of America in Grand Rapids. Over a quarter of a million dollars was attempted to be obtained within the scheme.

Bank accounts were created to deposit checks which then were cashed at various banks and casinos. Total amount that the scheme did end up obtaining was near half a million dollars.

Out of the 18 people who were charged,Tirrell Perry Thomas from Kalamazoo was sentenced the most with 102 months in prison. Kevin Lavelle Hunter II from Kalamazoo was sentenced the least with being sentenced 2 years of probation.

All who have been involved in the scheme have to pay back Bank of America depending on how involved they were within the scheme.
