On today's segment of Christine-ology, we're hopping in our time machine and going back to the mid-2000's.

Facebook memories. They’re fun to look back at and see what you were up to years ago. But as you’re scrolling through… there it is… your face staring back at you and your lips pursed up. Yes, it’s the dreaded duck face.

Ugh. So. Many. Duckfaces. It was one after another. Some were just me, others with friends. But they all had one thing in common: they were *cringeworthy.*

Then I start dissecting the pictures. I’m wearing an Abercrombie & Fitch t-shirt, with the iconic Tiffany heart necklace, my bug-eyed designer sunglasses, and the cherry on top of it all: the duck face.  And then I realize: “O-M-G. I was such a basic B.” This was basic before basic.

The duckface or “kissy face” (as some call it) symbolizes a time of the mid to late 2000’s when picking your top 8 on MySpace was the biggest decision of your day, taking your digital camera everywhere was vital, and every girl wanted to be BFF’s with Paris Hilton.

That time period did make up a major part of my young adulthood, and there are lots of fun memories to go along with it, but one thing I can confidently say I’ve left in the past is the duck face.

I take no offense if you judge me for this. I judge me too. Those pictures live on the internet. Here's another one just for fun.
