New App Lets You Rate People
If you're about to try a business for the first time, like a restaurant or salon or even a doctor, your natural instinct is to go on Yelp to read their reviews. It's become commonplace. But pretty soon businesses won't be the only thing you can rate or review.
Introducing the 'Peeple' app, a Yelp-like app that allows you to rate people! You or someone you know could be reviewed and rated on a 5-star scale. According to The Washington Post the app is expected to roll out in November. You'll be able to assign a rating to ANYONE and anyone can assign one for YOU! That includes your ex, your boss, neighbor --- ANYONE! And once your name is in the system you can't opt out.
People do so much research when they buy a car or make those kinds of decisions,” said Julia Cordray, one of the app’s founders. “Why not do the same kind of research on other aspects of your life?”
Looking at everyone in the three ways you could possibly know someone – personally, professionally and romantically – you can provide a rating and review on everyone you come in contact with, while allowing yourself to be reviewed.
The upside to the app, is if someone gives you a positive rating it automatically posts but if you get a negative rating you have a 48-hour window before it posts to "dispute it." You also must be 21 and have a Facebook account to use it.
How do you feel about this new app? Do you think you will use it?
